While most of us are just beginning to think about spring, weather in Phoenix has already shifted to the low 80s with warm breezes. If snow-induced cabin fever is starting to sink in, think about planning a quick trip to this sunny destination filled with family-friendly activities.
This time of the year, focus on the outdoor family-friendly Phoenix activities. Starting in March, catch a spring training baseball game at the Diamondbacks,’ Cubs,’ or Angels’ stadium. After the game, head to Wet-n-Wild, Big Surf, or one of the other water parks, or the Botanical Gardens. Right next door to the gardens is the Phoenix Zoo and Papago Park.
Remember to use plenty of sunscreen, but if you’ve still started to feel a little toasty, head inside to the Arizona Science Center or one of the many local museums. The Phoenix Art Museum and the Heard Museum are within walking distance from each other, close to Downtown Phoenix. Or, for a more hands-on experience, try the Musical Instrument Museum or the Phoenix Children’s Museum. Remember, while exploring in the city, keep an eye out for the many splash pads available to play and cool off in. Hit one of these kid-friendly restaurants or stop by Food Truck Friday.
Vacations are tough to squeeze in at this time of the year, but think about visiting Phoenix. It’s family-friendly, affordable and warm. Even a quick weekend trip could be a blast. But remember, no matter where you go or what you do, the most important part of family vacations is to have fun and enjoy each other’s company.
