If you’re like me, you sprang from the womb with a book in your hand. You counted down the days until you got to check out new books from the library. You wouldn’t come out from your reading spot for hours, and you never, ever left home without something to read.

Reading is awesome. You and I know this. But, for whatever reason, your child would rather spend time doing anything else. And that’s OK! There are lots of reasons that kids might be reluctant to pick up Harry Potter or The Giver or any other amazing book you enjoyed as a child. According to a recent report from Scholastic, kids want a lot of things from books, and maybe your child hasn’t found that special something yet. So, why not put comics in his or her path and see what happens? Comics are fun and bright, and much faster to read than most novels. Here are some great ones to get you (and your child) started.
